Origin Moringa
Moringa comes from the moringa tree (moringa oleifera), also known as the drumstick tree. The moringa tree is native to India, Nepal and Pakistan. Nowadays this tree is also cultivated outside these regions. The moringa tree can be found in tropical Africa, South America, Central America, the Caribbean and a large part of Southeast Asia.
Moringa oleifera is best known as an important food source. The tree is described as the 'natural food of the tropics'. The moringa tree has many uses in traditional medicine in Asia and West Africa, and produces edible pods, which taste like asparagus.
Processing into Moringa Capsules
The moringa leaves are harvested from organic moringa trees in India. After harvesting, the leaves are sorted, washed, drained and dried in the shade. After this process the leaves are ground into a very fine powder. This powder is processed into capsules that can be consumed as a food supplement.
Healthy properties of Moringa
The moringa powder from India has a bright green colour and a nice fresh taste. The taste is similar to the taste of spinach. Moringa powder is rich in calcium, vitamin A and E.
